The Infinitive Factory perceives itself as a laboratory for exquisit print products focussing on letterpress and hot foil stamping. From design, specially adjusted to the printing process, to various finishings of the printed products we provide everything you need for high quality printed matter. The Infinitive Factory was founded in 2012 aiming at establishing letterpress in Austria and simply adding beauty to the world.

In an old arched building in the district of Gries, Graz, we’re using our four original Heidelberger windmills from the 1950s and 1960s to print, emboss, crease, perforate and die cut our products. We’re eager to experiment with various materials to find the limits of our machines and craft.

Letterpress

Letterpress refers to the printing method that was established in the middle of the 15th century by German goldsmith and inventor Johannes Gutenberg.

Nowadays, working on 20th century letterpress machines, we use the high pressure to emboss the print forms in preferably soft and thick papers. The embossing of papers has been frowned upon for a long time–nowadays this effect makes our products highly desireable.

Of course, the highly haptic featuers just feel good and apply depth and soul to the prints, characteristics which are not replicable with modern printing processes.

Letterpress, which was slowly replaced by the more efficient offset printing in the late 20th century, nowadays has a huge revival. Though the methods are highly elaborate, only letterpress provides the distinctive charme of an old craft paired with possibilities of digital graphic desgin. The results are print products that aim to impress–letterpress business cards, stationary, mailings and invitations provide quality that you can see and feel.
